You might struggle to find it but you will get surprised when you get 35 steps down to find a busy but welcoming ambiance where food and joy is shared. Nice snacks and drinks in that little underground oasis.

Really cool little place, take your shoes off before you enter. It's a little hard to find, there's no street sign, but the restaurant is downstairs, the stair entrance is near the corner of the block, next to the hotel. You can also take the elevator from inside the bar next door down. Food was delicious, atmosphere was nice.

You make your way down a nondescript spiral staircase, to be surprised by a large, bustling restaurant. It's vibrant and fun and the food was really tip top. We sat in the shared table, where the seats are sunk into the floor and really enjoyed tempura prawns, edamame, delicious fresh salad and some very fresh and homemade udon noodles. Really hit the spot.

This is an amazing Izakaya, The food is excellent, not so expensive and the sake rock through bambou glass. Try the grilled maquerau, that one worth it ;-) Not so easy to find even With Google map, it's down stairs.

Fantastic food, definitely order the mackerel dish. Sashimi was great too. I recommend booking and asking for a seat at the bar so you can watch the chefs work their magic. The only thing I didn't like was that the food came out really fast and all at once.

The food is good enough but we took the set menu for four people and we paid 4000 yen per each and got food and drinks that cost much less in the regular menu. One dish for everybody and not four dishes to each person. I felt like i was cheated

Somewhat hidden and situated essentially in a basement. High quality food, I'm a fan of the deep fried ebi and garlic bread with tuna/ avocado.

Lively place to chat with locals. Sharing the back table was the prefect opportunity to find some funny people. The food was alright, nothing exceptional. But the edamame was specially good. The price was very good for the amount of food we had. At the end the atmosphere, ok food and service amount to a good overall experience. Much better than most typical Shibuya places.

This place was terrible. The staff was incredibly RUDE, they denied our table from ordering WATER (saying that they didn’t have any, only beer) and the server was impatient and didn’t wait for everyone to order so someone in our group was left without getting a drink. The food was mediocre— fried rice was bland and noodles were basic and overpriced. Then as we were leaving, one of the staff YELLED, and I mean yelled at our group when we were grabbing our shoes to put them back on outside. Which of course, we understood that it’s the Japanese culture to put shoes back on outside but there was no need to yell at us in that manner. Overall this place was trash, horrid service and mediocre food.

Had a great experience here the first time. The staff was young and nice.Cane back again with my Japanese colleagues and reserved with the menu published on Tabelog. Ridiculously expensive and not the same dishes.Horrible staff that didnt pay attention to us, ignoring my colleagues questions and just flat out awful. Not returning here anytime soon. There are other better places around.

Izakaya/Restaurant with attentive service (didn't have to ask them to place orders!), truly excellent food, and nice atmosphere. Chefs cook in the middle, surrounded by seats and tables. The selection of shochu and wine were good for a small place, but only 2 sake to choose from. Try the spicy fried chicken!

This is one of the best restaurants I experienced in Tokyo. The staff is super accommodating and there is an English menu. All of the food was delicious and the drinks were reasonably priced. Try the prawns and beef stew!

One word- WOW! This place is buzzing with locals and business people drinking and eating in a relaxed environment. The food itself was incredible and perfect. The sashimi was beautiful that just melted in your mouth and is a must try. The staff were lovely and when called over super attentive. The kitchen is in the middle of the Izakaya which served for great viewing and great vibes! If you want a relaxed and delicious dinner with a couple (or several!) whisky highballs - this is the place for you.

Food: Delicious Izakaya. The highlights of the meal for us were the grilled fish that they flambé at the table in front of you and the tuna/avocado dish.Drinks: Nice sake list.Ambiance: Happening but also quaint. Great date night spot or a place for a large group (get the table in the back!)

came here 3 nights in my 4-night stay in tokyo. carefree vibe, great food and cheap drinks. english menu available. i felt like i wasn't treated like a local during the 1st visit (not that i didn't enjoy my food tho), but then it improved during my 2nd visit and on my 3rd visit, i finally got my coat hanging place :) all in all it's the place to go if you are looking for an authentic izakaya experience.food: complimentary salad as appetiser. their torched mackerel is a must-eat. cheese tofu (with honey) is curious, yum and filling. great avo tuna tartare with baguette slices. love the mayo shrimp with onsen tamago and the kimchi udon too. in short, just order the TOP 5 dishes if you aren't sure.their last order time is 22:30 so don't go there too late.

Nice food (get the honey cheese tofu). The drinks are okay, but the cocktails are on the weak side. The reason for four stars is because the place is smoking and lacks non-smoking seating - so you're going to be smoking one way or another.

Very cool japanese atmosphere in this shibuya isakaya. You need to take the stairs down. Very local, almost no foreigners and they have an english menu. You can sit at the bar and watch the cooks working and serving you directly. Prices are very affordable for the quality and taste of food. Staff is friendly.

A quirky and fun place to go with a group or tourists. Cheese tofu, fried chicken, and complimentary salad are tasty! Menu is a bit haphazard, and space and service a little run down/rough around the edges. But worth a visit at least once!

Got recommended this place by a local. It was really neat inside of a subbasement. Service was amazing, food was great! Everything was delicious, while sashimi was just ok. But it didn't change our opinion of the place. And it was very reasonably priced!! Would definitely come here again!

Extremely disappointed with the food and experience. We were greeted by incredibly rude and inpatient staff that truely ruined our experience in Tokyo. This was the worst dinner I have had in Japan, and I am incredibly disappointed to have taken my family to the establishment on a night out.I have never seen such poor quality and service in my time in Japan....

Trendy restaurant located in a basement (35 steps down) in Shibuya. You first have to take your shoes off in the reception before entering the dining area. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious! Small portions but that's to be expected in Japan. We would've visited again had we not only discovered this bistro the night before our flight.
